Word of the day: Pretentious
pre•ten•tious |priˈten ch əs|
attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed : a pretentious literary device.
A long overdue comeback ..

It’s a short film called We Were Once a Fairytale, starring Kanye West. It’s about removing a demon from his body. The idea came after a conversation between Spike Jonze and Kanye West, who decided to do this low-budgeted short film.
So what do you think? Yay, Nay, or Meh ?

Review: Daughters of Shame
Hmm what can I say about this book? It’s very unique, the stories and the facts that are written within it are very interesting and intriguing. At first the book seemed to be a little “hmm” if that’s a good enough word to describe it, but then as the events grew more interesting, the book became unputdownable (OMG that’s actually a word ! My Mac didn’t correct me when I wrote it LOL 😛 ). Anyways, it’s a mind opening book to this new world that unfortunately we don’t hear much about. It’s interesting and I definitely recommend it. So go to your nearest store, buy it and have fun reading it !

Rant: Traffic & Crazy Love !
School & University have started, and basically everyone is now back to their daily routine. One thing that’s quite interesting is this, each year the number of cars in parkings increase ! So what’s the deal exactly? I thought with every passing year, the amount of people graduating equals the amount of people admitted. But apparently I was wrong, since with every passing year the parkings grow more crowded, and the ride to/from college takes a little more time than the year before.
Anyways, with this there’s road rage, which I’m sure is very very very common among us “raising my hand slightly embarrassed to admit that”. With that what better way to release this anger and accept the situation than Michael Bublé. Yes I know, I’ve talked more about him that about me. But what can I say, I’m sucker when it comes to him. Anyways, his new album “Crazy Love” is a MUST ! Steal it, download it, buy it, I really don’t care as long as you get a chance to hear his awesomeness in this album. Here’s the album’s cover song, Crazy Love .. ENJOY !

Apparently Michelle Obama will be the first star appearance on Sesame Street, taking part of the first episode in their 40th anniversary season that premiers in November. She will be planting tomato, lettuce and cucumber seeds and teaching the puppets about the benefits of planting gardens and eating healthy food. A good gesture from the First Lady, two thumbs up !

Review: The Lost Symbol
Just finished reading it, and I have to say it’s a bit different than what I expected. The story is new and fresh, to me at least. It’s a little scary at times, because of a certain character, I’m sure those who read it know who I’m talking about. Parts of it were very captivating, you’ll get a lot of question-mark moments, and you’ll learn many many MANY new information. To me it’s a very great journey, shocking at times, enlightening at other times, and a good read. I very highly recommend an open search engine while you’ll reading it, because it will make it easier for you to keep up, or to speculate things, and just be on track with what exactly is going on !
If you are to compare it with his best selling Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code, well it will come short, because those had more action, if I may call it that, and they were just a bit more interesting. But all in all, it’s a good book !

Review: The Sartorialist
I’m sure you all know The Sartorialist “Scott Schuman”, his blog is like my online getaway. He knows style and shows it like no other fashion photographer. Anyway, tonight I’ve received his book “The Sartorialist” as a gift from a friend and I must say I’m hitched ! It’s gonna be my shopping companion for now on ! The book contains every shot that he took in his four years of blogging. Every now and then in the book, he’d comment about why did he take a certain photo, or what inspires him, he’d also talk about his fashion influence, and many other things. The book contains mainly photographs, but it’s fun that he added a little commentary every 5-15 pages. At the end of the book, in the Index, he wrote exactly where each shot was taken and when.
Anyway, it’s a wonderful book, and a must for fashion enthusiasts.
A special Thank You Sarah for this beautiful gift :*
