For about 6 months now, a couple of doctors in our family have been active in teaching Kuwaitis about Vitamin D and what its deficiency can lead to. I think what started this all is a health problem that I suffered from a while back, and I had to take the Vitamin D test. A regular person would have a Vitamin D level from 23-113 nmol/L, but mine was 13, which was very low. And these results were actually quiet common, and something just had to be done!

The main reason that people are suffering from this low volume is the lack of exposure to the sun, especially since our sun is so hot and our weather is even hotter! And also this can also be caused by not eating much food that contains vitamin D, such as fish, eggs, beef liver, and so on.

So what I’m aiming for here, is for you to go get your Vitamin D test. If you do get a low result, God forbids, they will either give you 6 injections (one every two weeks, don’t worry 😛 ) or they’ll give you some pills. I was given the 6 injections and now I’m taking the pills.

You can also self-increase the volume of vitamin D, by eating healthier food. Such as Fish liver oils, Whole eggs, Cooked Beef liver, Mushrooms, and different kinds of fish like: Herring, Catfish, Salmon, Mackerel, Sardines, Tuna, Eel and other fatty fish.

  2. My mother is still struggling with this problem the doctor has prescribed her a vitamin D, and she has less than 13 it was around 8 or so.

    I still don’t know whats the reason of it.

    bent refeejty suffered the same .. min awal ma enwaldat lain 9ar 3omerha 4 months wehy ma shafat elshams kila bel bait ( u know 1st child, o khayfa 3alaiha wayed), fa 9ar feeha naq9 eb vitamin D, bas el7emdela now she is better 🙂 after getting that vitamin and exposing her to the sun every day 🙂
